"Splendid Isolation" is a set of tunes that Kevin Burke and I worked on together. The first tune was written by Brendan McGlinchey and we both agreed that it was a great tune to start the set. The following tune "Brefni O'Reillys," composed by Ed Reavey seemed to gel with the first tune. The last tune in the set, "Ormond Sound," was composed by Paddy O'Brien and is one of my favourite tunes. It was wonderful to work with Kevin and have him play with me on this track" - Johnny B. Connolly At just 26 years of age, Dublin-born Johnny Connolly has already generated a reputation as an accomplished button accordionist. Johnny's talents have given him the chance to perform and record with some of Celtic music's best musicians, including Kevin Burke, the Chieftains, Anam, Patrick Ourceau and Aidan Brennan.
This set of reels features Kevin Burke on fiddle and Jim Chapman on bouzouki. It is from Johnny B. Connolly's Green Linnet recording, Bridgetown.
