mind), but Folkal Point, Lloyd Brady's program on 106.7 PBS FM, in Melbourne
will be concentrating on Celtic accordion, with a touch of Quebec and Cajun styles as well.
Friday: June 15, Minnesota, USA
6 - 11 AM, Central Time: 2 shows! 5 hours!
DJ Blanche Fubar will offer some special performances (live and recorded) on KFAI 90.3 & 106.7 FM, Minneapolis-St. Paul and on the 'net. You'll hear local accordion goddess Dee Langley play live, plus some concert material from Maria Kalaniemi and other accordion gods and goddessses the world over, and maybe an accordion relative or two. And stay tuned for more accordion sounds from South Louisiana,
and probably a joke or two about freeing this guy named Reed, on Louisiana Rhythms, from 9 to 11 AM.

Roots and Wings, hosted by Philly Markowitz, will present a festival special
including new releases from 2 accordion-weilding Canadian groups: Swamperella (Cajun, n'est pas?) and Beyond the Pale featuring Sasha Luminsky (klezmer with a hint of newgrass). Also a tribute to the late Boozoo Chavis. More details will follow soon. The show is broadcast in Toronto at 5:05 PM. June 17, Sunday. Melbourne, Australia:
The Global Village (with presenter and tourist guide Roger Holdsworth) joins the Free Reed Festival and showcases the world of accordions, melodeons etc. We'll squeeze in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Finland ... and Australia, of course, with some great home-grown players.
The program airs 3 to 5 pm on PBS-FM 106.7, Melbourne on his Australia Global Village program. Also available on the internet live.
