Music of the Month
For a contribution of 20.00 a month (33.00 outside of the US), I'll be sending you a recording from somewhere interesting, each and every month. You will receive a CD in the mail, and regular monthly subcribers will also get a bonus CD now and then.

Our Music of the Month selection for May 2021
"If weird came in sizes from XS to XXXL, then The Best Japanese Music You’ve Never Heard would clock in somewhere around an XL on the scale. Not so alien it sounds as if it’s from another planet, but heading towards the edge of this one." Chris Nickson in his RootsWorld review.
This month we present a diverse collection exploring some of Japan’s lesser-known contemporary styles by artists rooted in tradition. From the female divas of the southern Ryukyu islands to the minyo revivalists Boomdigi, Aragehonzi and Tsukudanaka Sanpachi, this is an album full of intrigue and surprises. The tracks included here were chosen by Paul Fisher of Far Side Music, who has had his ear of the pulse of Asian music of all kinds for decades.
These CDs are donated by World Music Network, and I thank them (and I hope, you) for supporting RootsWorld.
