Kultainen keskitie (golden middle road)
By Jaakko Laitinen

If you could fill my glass with five centiliters of drink
I could tell you a story
bit messy but incomparable to anything
especially if we put in some Lapland extra

Everything started so
that I was born into this world
and so started my journey towards the coffin
my fate boldly toasted his glass
and whispered: "we are going together now"

I did not know where I was heading
so I took a mile of danger and wrong
how beatufilly the unknown was shining
  my star is burning

There is so many paths in the world
  so long and so futile
I have walked from beginning to end each and everyone of them
  except the golden middle road

Wandering wrong paths
took me to
the secret sweet sides of life
that you will miss on the highways of troubles
turn your own turning wheel

Life is now
we are thrown here
like chips of wood sailing on a stream
we who made it all the way here deserve a beer
squeeze the joys out of life!

I trusted luck and clean shirt
I went the road from one side to another
and if you ask me if I ever found what I was looking for
  I can answer you: "no!"

There is so many paths in the world
  so long and so futile
I have walked from beginning to end each and everyone of them
  except the golden middle road

But I found so much else
I went to the forest and sometimes hit my head on the tree
and I found all the best berry picking places
when I got off the main highways

There is so many paths in the world
  so long and so futile
I have walked from beginning to end each and everyone of them
  except the golden middle road
