Larry Mesirow The Global Village label has produced some 150 albums, characterized by minimal liner notes and incredible music. This is a collection of 23 songs, interpreted by a western folk singer from Chicago whose Spanish comes from Mexico. The songs are western, cosmopolitan, and 19th century material; not 500-year-old Jewish cuts, but simple songs of passion and love. A worthy collection and indicative of what you can expect on Global Village: giving voice to music that we otherwise would not hear. - Richard Dorsett Comment on this music or the web site.
