Lars Hollmer, Sweden
Lars Hollmer is one of the great iconoclasts of Swedish music, an innovative composer and performer who has worked with infamous progressive bands like Samla Mammas Manna and von Zamla, new improvisational and composed music with his own Looping Home Orchestra and the 1998 Accordion Tribe
and has produced a score of solo recordings, most produced in his own Chickenhouse Studios in Uppsala, Sweden. He won a Swedish Grammy for his 1999 recording, Andetag.
The piece he has contributed to this year's festival is called "Südaf," a work for three accordions based on a South African rhythm. He'll tell you about it himself and then you can listen to the music.
